If there was one thing that I thought I would never be interested in, it would have to be slugs. Even the word gives me the willies--slugs. But these pics from the June issue of National Geographic have completely erased all my previous stereotypes against these slimy, slow moving creatures! Each photograph is more amazing than the next! I'm actually considering hanging a slug portrait on my wall! Who knew? http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/2008/06/nudibranchs/doubilet-photography

Two of my favorite things...raccoons and magnolia trees!! Life doesn't get much better! Check out more of Anne's awesome wildlife artwork at her web site www.defpoillustration.blogspot.com and her blog www.annedrawsanimals.blogspot.com.

I am obsessed, OBSESSED with these banners from the Urban Forest Project. I was so excited to read that they're all available in t-shirt form that my first inclination was to immediately buy one. Instead, I decided to simply use the Corbett image (the one in the middle) as desktop wallpaper. I am in fact so enamored with the image, that the other day the guy that sits next to me at work caught me happily looking at my computer screen, and yelled "stop staring at those birds!" Whoops. I do feel a bit guilty about not buying a t-shirt considering that the money goes to charity, but now that the image is on my computer, I don't really feel the need to buy yet another shirt.

Some incredibly sweet, but mysterious person left these two adorable penguins on my desk while I was on vacation, and I have to say, I love them!! I wind them up and they waddle around my desk, and they just make me happy. Let's face it, they make everyone happy! How could they not; they're so damn cute!!

Ground owls. Who doesn't like owls? Okay, they're annoying when their hooting wakes you up, but other than that, they're pretty damn cool. Especially, that owl that was in the Tootsie Pop commercial. He ruled.
